EAL Learning Mentor
Location: Oldham
Start date: ASAP / After Easter
Contract: Full-time, long-term
TimePlan Education is recruiting an EAL Learning Mentor to support pupils with English as an Additional Language in a diverse secondary school. This is ideal for someone with language skills and a passion for supporting newly arrived and developing English learners.
Key Responsibilities
* Support EAL pupils in class, clarifying instructions and key vocabulary.
* Deliver small‑group or 1:1 language support sessions focused on speaking, listening, reading and writing.
* Help pupils adapt to school routines, culture and expectations.
* Work closely with class teachers and the EAL/SEN team to track progress and adapt support.
Qualifications
* Have experience working with EAL learners or in a multilingual setting.
* Be a clear communicator, patient and culturally sensitive.
* Be organised, proactive and able to build supportive relationships with students and families.
