If you’ve got experience in a professional kitchen and love cooking food that warms hearts as well as bellies, we’d love to hear from you.
At CrossReach, we’re looking for a Cook who can prepare delicious, nutritious meals that cater to a range of dietary needs and personal preferences. You’ll plan menus, make great use of fresh produce, and keep the kitchen running smoothly and safely. From home baking to special events like birthdays and Christmas dinners, your work will be a big part of daily life for the people we support.
You’ll need to have previous catering experience and be confident managing food stocks, working to a budget, and following health and hygiene standards. If you already have an Elementary Food Hygiene certificate, that’s ideal – but if not, we can help you get it. A good level of independence is important too, as you’ll often be the lead in the kitchen, with support from other staff when needed.
This is a chance to be part of a close-knit, values-led team where your role really matters. We welcome people from all backgrounds and walks of life, and we ask that you are respectful of the Christian ethos that underpins our work.
As this is a role working with vulnerable people, membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme is required – but don’t worry, we’ll guide you through that process.
If you’re ready to bring your skills to a role where food and care go hand in hand, apply now – and let’s make something special together.
We also offer you a range of benefits that you would expect from an organisation that support others.
Firstly, there is access to a wide range of exclusive retail and leisure discounts through our rewards scheme and the Blue Light Discount card. We also ensure that your future and that of your loved ones is secured with a generous contributory pension plan and death in service benefit. Balancing work and family are made easier with our suite of enhanced family friendly policies and your health and wellness are prioritised with access to our health cash plan, giving you cash back for a wide range of health treatments. We even have access to a care concierge service to assist you with life's challenges, providing invaluable support when you need it most.
But we also know that your training and development is important to you, and as well as a contribution to your professional membership fees, we are keen to support you in making the right steps to learn, grow and develop in ways that are right for you.
