Reporting to: Operations Director
Location: Reading and Crawley sites
Reports: 2 (with a small QC/ Returns Control team based across both sites).
Hours of work: 44 hours per week

Role Profile:
We are seeking a dynamic Quality Manager to lead and coordinate quality control activities across two manufacturing sites - Reading and Crawley.
The successful candidate will ensure that all products—produced via injection moulding, extrusion, and assembly - meet internal standards and lead initiatives to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.
This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement, maintaining compliance with ISO standards, and fostering a culture of quality excellence.
As the Quality Manager your responsibilities will include:
* Oversee quality control processes including raw material inspection, in-process checks, and final product testing.
* Collaborate with production, engineering, and R&D teams to resolve quality issues and improve product consistency.
* Manage and analyze product returns, identifying root causes of quality issues and implementing corrective and preventative actions to reduce return rates and improve customer satisfaction.
* Ensure proper documentation and root cause analysis for all returns, using tools such as 8D or Fishbone diagrams to drive corrective actions.
* Monitor and report on quality KPIs, identifying trends and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
* Support sustainability goals by managing the disposition of returned products in line with environmental and recycling standards.
* Train and support staff on quality procedures, standards, and best practices.
* Support new product introductions and first-off approvals, ensuring quality is built into every stage
Experience and Skills to be considered:
* 5-7 years proven experience in a quality leadership role within a manufacturing environment, ideally plastics or recycled materials.
* Demonstrate the ability to lead, train and coach a team, driving morale.
* Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
* Hands-on knowledge of injection moulding, extrusion, and assembly processes.
* Additional certifications such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or ISO Lead Auditor are highly desirable.

* Proven experience in continuous improvement programmes
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
* Strong communication skills to liaise with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers
* Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
