HR Manager
Location: Basildon Head office, will also need to be able to travel to our various locations across Essex and London.
Salary/Rate:£35,000 - £40,000/annum (Depending on Experience) Benefits

We're looking for an experienced and adaptable HR Manager to join our team will support the HR function across the whole business (approx. 150 employees currently) located around Essex and East London.
As the HR Manager, you'll be responsible for all aspects of the employee lifecycle, ensuring legal compliance, maintaining a positive work culture, and supporting our managers and teams. You will also play a hands-on role in health & safety and site management.
Key responsibilities include:
* Handling employee relations matters, disciplinaries, and welfare support
* Maintaining and updating HR policies and employment documentation
* Recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
* Oversee weekly & monthly payroll and collaborating with the Finance team to ensure payroll alignment
* Leading the annual appraisal process and supporting training coordination
* Ensuring HR records are accurate, up to date, and GDPR-compliant
* Managing health & safety procedures with third-party support
* Providing first-line HR advice to staff and coaching to managers which is supported by Peninsula UK (specialist in Employment Law)
* Overseeing employee engagement initiatives and internal communications
Key Qualities / Skills
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Solid understanding of employment law and HR best practices (this role will be supported by Peninsula UK specialist in Employment Law)
* Able to manage sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism
* Highly organised with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
* Confident working independently
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel)
* Familiarity with health & safety and risk assessments
Experience Preferred:
* At least 2 years in a generalist HR role (essential)
* CIPD qualification is required alongside minimum of two years undertaking similar role and duties as detailed below. This is a stand-alone role that reports directly into the Director.
* Previous experience in health & safety responsibilities
