HR Manager – Learning & Development (6 months PAYE assignment)

Join our client as an HR Manager in a temporary 6-month PAYE assignment, leading, developing, and designing learning and development initiatives for staff. The successful candidate will oversee performance management, employee relations, recognition awards, and line management of HR team members.
Key facts
* Full-time, temporary contract – 6 months PAYE assignment
* Hybrid working pattern: home-based with at least 2 days a week in the London office
* Gross Pay rate (PAYE): £29.26 to £32.91 per hour + holiday pay
* Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours/week, 0900 - 1700
NB: this is an urgent role; candidates must be immediately available or on a very short notice period.
The role
Key responsibilities include:
* Line management and appraisal of HR staff
* Ensuring staff are trained and overseeing staff development
* Leading learning & development, payroll, recognition awards, and performance systems
* Supporting management practice reviews and modernization
* Driving organizational development through continuous management programs
* Assisting the Director of HR with strategy development for engagement
* Managing and developing the HR system
* Overseeing payroll processes with the Senior HR Coordinator
* Developing staff induction and performance management processes
* Creating a Learning & Development Strategy aligned with organizational needs
* Developing annual learning programs and addressing learning needs
The ideal candidate
* Full CIPD membership
* Knowledge of UK employment law
* Commitment to equity and diversity
* Experience in learning & development management or team leadership
* Team management experience
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Problem-solving skills
* Experience with multiple learning methodologies, eLearning tools, LMS, and SharePoint
* Experience managing HR projects from start to finish
* Policy and procedure development experience
