What skills and experience we're looking for

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning Mentor to lead our school funded alternative learning provision for children in Key Stage 1.

We are looking to appoint a Learning Mentor with lots of initiative and excellent communication skills, to join our friendly, forward‑thinking and supportive team. You will be an enthusiastic, highly motivated and hard‑working person and will work alongside Learning Support Assistants to lead this bespoke provision for a small group of children from Year 1 and Year 2. Our children are friendly, keen to learn, caring and well behaved.


Responsibilities

Lead the alternative learning provision for children in Key Stage 1, working closely with Learning Support Assistants to plan and deliver a broad curriculum for a small group of Year 1 and Year 2 children.


Qualifications

* Experience of working with children within the Early Years or Key Stage One, and a commitment to supporting all children’s learning.
* NVQ2/3 or equivalent in working with children or within schools.
* Enthusiastic, self‑motivated, creative and able to use initiative.
* Committed to working as part of a team to plan and deliver a broad curriculum.
* Organised, efficient and professional in approach with strong interpersonal skills.
* Respectful, understanding and patient.
* Good IT skills.
* Good behaviour management skills.
* Willing, at times, to go above and beyond to ensure children receive the very best.
