Quality Manager, experienced and motivated, with an extensive knowledge of and background in the automotive industry, required to join a well-established leading manufacturer. As Quality Manager, you would be responsible for leading and developing the Quality function to ensure robust, compliant, and cost-effective quality systems. The role of Quality Manager covers both automotive and aerospace standards, with a strong focus on operational integration, customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and team development.

Candidates must have strong working knowledge of IATF 16949 and AS9100 standards. Offered as a permanent contract, the role of Quality Manager provides a competitive salary range and dynamic working environment.

Quality Manager Responsibilities:

* Ensure quality resources, priorities, and activities support daily production planning and delivery commitments

* Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System in line with IATF 16949 and AS9100 requirements, ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and certification body requirements

* Lead internal audits, support external audits, and manage corrective actions

* Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure robust quality controls are embedded in manufacturing processes, ensure effective use of control plans, process capability, and risk-based thinking

* Champion high standards of housekeeping across the business, lead and sustain 5S activities, audits, and continuous improvement actions

* Prepare and present weekly quality performance reports to the Directors, track and analyse KPIs including (but not limited to) Right First Time (RFT), Scrap and rework, Customer complaints and escapes. Use data to drive corrective actions and improvement initiatives

* Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality matters, lead customer complaint handling, root cause analysis, and corrective action responses, support customer audits, visits, and quality reviews

* Lead structured problem-solving activities using Lean principles and recognised methodologies (e.g. 8D, A3, 5 Why, Ishikawa)

* Develop and implement effective reaction plans to quality issues and drive preventive actions to reduce recurrence and improve process stability

* Lead, coach, and develop Quality team members, identify skills gaps and training needs to support current and future requirements fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth

* Actively manage quality-related costs, including scrap, rework, containment, and warranty exposure

* Support cost reduction initiatives while maintaining compliance and customer requirements

* Ensure effective use and compliance with FAIR (First Article Inspection Report) and PPAP documentation processes

* Support new product introduction and change management from a quality perspective

* Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant quality records

Quality Manager Skills and Experience:

* Proven experience in a Quality leadership role within automotive and/or aerospace manufacturing

* Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949 and AS9100 standards

* Experience working closely with production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills aligned with Lean methodologies

* Confident communicator, able to present data and performance clearly to senior leadership

* Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams

* Comfortable balancing operational demands with system compliance

* Resilient and confident in challenging situations, including customer-facing issues

* Driven to improve quality performance, cost control, and operational effectiveness

Location: Kings Norton, Birmingham
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 – 16:00 and Friday 7:00 – 13:00
Salary: £50,000 to £55,000 p.a. dependent upon experience

Contract: Permanent
