Welcome to Hovis. We are the proud guardians of over 130 years of baking experience that make up our iconic and much-loved brand. We produce bread and bakery products created with Hovis goodness at the heart of each. We deliver around 1.3million loaves, every day of the week throughout the UK and Ireland, where we also make Mothers Pride and Ormo products. We are 2,800 people working within 8 bakeries, 1 flour mill, and 2 regional distribution centres across the UK. Our success is a result of the hard work of our people; they are experts in their field whether it’s baking, manufacturing, logistics, engineering, or the many departments within the central functions team based in our head office in High Wycombe. We are a values-led business and expect our colleagues to live, breathe, and embed Quality, Accountability, and Trust into their ways of working. About the role Hovis is continuing its journey to becoming a truly data-driven organisation, and we’re looking for a Data Architect to help shape how data is structured, governed and used across the business. Working as part of a small, remote IT team, you’ll define and evolve our enterprise data architecture while remaining close to delivery. This is a mid–senior level role, ideal for someone who enjoys influencing strategy, getting hands on when needed, and flexing between architecture and delivery as priorities evolve. While large-scale data migration isn’t guaranteed in the short term, the platform and roadmap are evolving, so this role offers variety, ownership, and long-term impact rather than being tied to a single transformation programme. What you’ll be doing; Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture roadmap aligned to business goals. Design conceptual, logical and physical data models across transactional and analytical domains. Set and govern data architecture standards, patterns and principles. Guide the evolution of Azure-based data platforms. Translate business needs into pragmatic, scalable data designs. Provide architectural oversight and hands-on support to delivery teams.
