Learning Mentor – EOTAS Support

Hours: 2 × 3‑hour sessions per week

Contract: Part‑time, ongoing
About the role
Quantum Scholars are looking for an experienced and supportive Learning Mentor to work with two separate young people who are currently educated other than at school (EOTAS). This flexible, part‑time role provides individual support to help each young person develop confidence, independence, life skills and engagement with learning.
Responsibilities
* Provide 2 × 3‑hour mentoring sessions per week
* Support two separate young people on an individual basis
* Help young people develop confidence, independence and positive routines
* Support life skills, including community access and use of public transport
* Provide gentle support with academic work where required
* Encourage engagement, communication and motivation
* Adapt support to meet each young person’s individual needs
* Liaise with Quantum Scholars and relevant professionals as needed
Qualifications and attributes
* Experience working as a Learning Mentor or in a similar role
* Experience supporting young people with additional needs, barriers to education or EOTAS provision
* Calm, patient and encouraging approach
* Confidence supporting life skills and independence‑building activities
* Ability to support basic academic work where needed
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with young people
* Flexibility around days and times
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
* Suitable for an experienced Learning Mentor, Youth Worker, Teaching Assistant, SEND Support Worker or someone with strong experience supporting young people outside of mainstream education
