JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Labourer
Main Purpose of job:
Moves, secures, installs, builds, loads, or unloads materials. Performs some specialized tasks which may require on-the job training. Effectively using heavy and light equipment, depending on the jobsite/assignment. Moves items from place to place, according to direction from the site supervisor.
Key Tasks / Main Duties:
* Carry out a variety of manual tasks, including but not limited to digging, lifting, and transporting materials across the construction site.
* Assist in the preparation of construction sites by cleaning and clearing debris, as well as ensuring that all tools and equipment are in proper working order.
* Receive and distribute construction materials, ensuring proper storage and organisation on-site.
* Collaborate with skilled tradespeople, such as carpenters and masons, by helping and maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
* Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and participating in safety meetings.
* Operate construction equipment such as power tools, jackhammers, and compactors under supervision, following safety guidelines.
* Perform regular cleanup of the construction site, ensuring a tidy and hazard-free environment.
* Assist in the mixing, pouring, and finishing of concrete as needed.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Construction Labourer in the construction industry.
* Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift heavy objects.
* Knowledge of basic construction techniques and practices.
* Familiarity with construction tools and equipment.
* Strong commitment to safety procedures and guidelines.
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
* Flexibility to work in various weather conditions.
* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

*In addition the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by the supervisor/manager from time to time.
Salary: £12.50 an hour.
