Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our culinary team We're a warm, nurturing nursery serving children from 3 months to 5 years. At the heart of what we do is wholesome, nutritious food tailored to the dietary needs of little ones. You'll join a caring team that values creativity, safety, and fun.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and prepare balanced, age‑appropriate meals and snacks for infants through to pre‑schoolers, respecting dietary needs and allergies.
* Work within nursery budgets and government nutritional guidelines.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment.
* Monitor food inventory, manage stock, and place orders as required.
* Keep accurate food and allergen records for compliance and transparency.
* Collaborate closely with nursery staff, ensuring meal times support children's emotional well‑being.
* Assist with light domestic tasks linked to mealtimes (e.g., cleaning bibs, wiping surfaces, washing up).
* Keep the the HACCP document up to date and in line with the latest legal requirements
* The ability to work with environmental health and achieve the highest food hygiene ratings
Qualifications & Skills:
* Previous experience in a nursery, school, or similar setting preferred, but an enthusiastic cook with child-friendly approach will be considered.
* Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2).
* Understanding of child nutrition, allergens, and portion sizes.
* Child-focused, patient, and adaptable, with strong communication skills.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21-£13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
