Freelance Site Manager – Major Pipeline Project (Carlisle)
Location: Carlisle (base)
Duration: 18 months (starting January)

⏰ Hours: 7am – 7pm, Monday to Friday (some weekend work required)
A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join the team for a major 25km pipeline installation project in the Carlisle area. The scheme, valued at £16 million, offers the opportunity to work on a high-profile, long-term infrastructure development.
Site Manager
Overall responsibility for day-to-day site operations on the £16m pipeline project
Managing subcontractors, workforce, and materials on site
Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
Working closely with the senior management team to deliver project milestones
Supported by Peter and the wider engineering and commercial teams
Requirements
Proven experience in civil engineering projects (ideally utilities, water, or pipeline works)
CSCS and SMSTS (for Site Manager)
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to manage workload on a busy, fast-paced project
