MEICA Site Manager – Water Sector (Pumping Stations)

Rate: £350 per day (Outside IR35 – subject to assessment)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced MEICA Site Manager to deliver a programme of pumping station upgrades and refurbishment works across the Midlands. This role sits within a major UK water framework and will involve managing Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) installation and commissioning activities on live clean and wastewater sites.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of works, with responsibility for coordinating multidisciplinary teams and maintaining programme targets across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Take full responsibility for site-based delivery of MEICA works on pumping stations
* Manage and coordinate subcontractors across mechanical, electrical, and ICA packages
* Plan and oversee installation activities including pumps, pipework, valves, MCCs, cabling, and instrumentation
* Ensure all works are carried out in line with project specifications, drawings, and industry standards
* Lead daily briefings, toolbox talks, and site inductions
* Review and implement RAMS, ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations
* Monitor progress against programme and report on milestones, risks, and delays
* Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, and client representatives to ensure smooth delivery
* Coordinate inspections, testing, and commissioning activities
* Manage site documentation including permits, ITPs, and quality records
* Support project handover including snagging, O&M manuals, and as-built documentation
Requirements
* Demonstrable experience as a Site Manager delivering MEICA works within the water sector
* Strong understanding of pumping station installations and refurbishment projects
* Experience working on live water or wastewater treatment sites
* Proven ability to manage subcontractors and drive programme delivery
* Good knowledge of health, safety, and environmental compliance within utilities or infrastructure
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Certifications (Essential):
* SMSTS
* CSCS (appropriate level)
Preferred:
* First Aid at Work
* Confined Space Training
* EUSR Water Hygiene
Desirable Experience
* Previous experience working on AMP frameworks (e.g. Severn Trent, United Utilities, Anglian Water)
* Exposure to commissioning activities and handover processes
* Familiarity with SCADA systems, PLCs, and telemetry
* Temporary works or lifting operations knowledge
