We are currently seeking a dependable, experienced and well-organised Site Manager to take responsibility for the facilities, safety and smooth daily running of a respected secondary school in Bristol. These include: • Managing all daily site operations across the school grounds to ensure everything runs smoothly and safely • Leading and coordinating the work of caretakers, cleaners and external contractors • Conducting routine and reactive repairs, decorating and maintenance tasks • Ensuring full compliance with health & safety regulations, statutory checks and record-keeping (e.g. fire alarms, emergency lighting, water testing) • Overseeing heating, ventilation, security and alarm systems, and acting as a key holder for emergencies • Maintaining cleanliness, order and high presentation standards across all internal and external areas • Supporting school events, exams, lettings and extended-hours programmes with logistics and setup • Liaising regularly with senior leadership on site development, capital projects and long-term maintenance plans This is a pivotal role that requires someone who can combine practical skills with strong coordination and leadership. Experience and Qualifications • Proven experience in site or facilities management (experience in an educational setting is desirable but not essential) • Strong understanding of health & safety, statutory compliance, safeguarding and risk assessment • Practical skills across basic trades (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, decorating, minor electrical work) • Ability to lead a team confidently, delegate tasks and motivate others • High standards of reliability, professionalism and integrity • Good IT skills for managing logs, compliance records and communication Salary Support staff scale based on experience and responsibilities.
