We’re looking for a reliable and experienced Cook to join our team, preparing freshly made meals for the people who live in our care home. This is a role where your cooking skills will genuinely make a difference—providing nourishing food that’s both well-balanced and thoughtfully made.
You’ll plan and prepare a variety of meals and snacks, catering to different dietary needs and personal preferences. We encourage home-style cooking with plenty of fresh ingredients, and where possible, we support service users to get involved in food preparation too. You’ll also take responsibility for ordering supplies, managing food stocks, and maintaining a clean, safe and well-run kitchen in line with health and hygiene regulations.
We’re looking for someone with previous catering experience, ideally with a Food Hygiene Certificate—but if you don’t have one yet, we’ll help you gain it. What matters most is that you’re organised, dependable, and take pride in your work. You’ll be working closely with our care team, so good communication and a friendly approach are essential. You’ll also need to be respectful of CrossReach’s Christian ethos.
In return, we offer a supportive working environment where your work is valued every day. You’ll have access to training and development opportunities, staff benefits including a pension scheme and employee assistance programme, and the chance to be part of a service that puts people first.
CrossReach has been at the forefront of high quality social care for over 150 years, providing loving care to people of all ages and supporting them to live life to the full whatever their circumstances. During that time, we have worked hard to understand the needs of the people who turn to us for help and with them have been at the forefront of pioneering services which have literally changed thousands of lives for the better.
Today we are one of the largest social care providers in Scotland, with experience across a broad range of services. We are still growing, learning, and improving, thanks to the incredible people we have the privilege to support, and all those who support us. We are part of the Church of Scotland and aim to provide social care services and specialist resources in Christ’s name to further the caring work of the Church to people in challenging circumstances.
As we do our work in Christ’s name you must be respectful of our Christian Ethos and be able to work within it.
