Make a Difference Every Day as an SEN Learning Mentor GSL Education is seeking a passionate SEN Learning Mentor to join a specialist school in Barking and Dagenham. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm, where your commitment and support will help pupils with special educational needs thrive both inside and outside the classroom. About the Role: As an SEN Learning Mentor, you’ll play a key role in guiding and supporting students with a variety of additional needs. From building confidence to encouraging independence, your input will help shape their progress and well-being. You’ll be working in a special school environment that values patience, creativity, and resilience. Key Duties: Mentor pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis to support academic and personal growth. Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being. Work alongside teachers to adapt lessons and activities for individual needs. Encourage social interaction and confidence-building. Provide consistent support, ensuring pupils feel safe, respected, and included. Candidate Profile: Previous experience in SEN support or mentoring young people (desirable). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Empathy, patience, and resilience when managing challenges. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
