An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Manager to join our Building division in Northern Ireland.Covering various NI projects, the principal purpose of the role shall be to plan, implement and control Quality management systems, to ensure that company systems are compliant with relevant Industry quality standards.
As a Quality Manager, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and controlling quality management systems to ensure compliance with relevant industry quality standards. Reporting to the Head of Quality & Compliance, you will conduct routine inspections of live sites and units while they are under construction, to ensure high standards of build quality and identify defects as early as possible.
One of the most crucial aspects of this role is accurate reporting of site visits and ensuring works are checked, rechecked and signed-off, prior to the snagging process.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in a similar position with a main contractor.
NB: This role will require some travel to various NI regions. Due to site locations, a full, valid driving licence is required for this vacancy.
Key responsibilities will include;
* Ensure consistent quality and compliance standards are applied across all sites in line with the internal standards, current legislation and contract requirements
* Lead ongoing control and monitoring of compliance with approved practices and procedures through internal and external audits
* Monitor both subcontractors and site managers QMS processes and prepare clear and accurate reports following site visits by accurately recording any non-compliant works or processes.
* Ensure company policies, processes and procedures are constantly reviewed, improved and be responsible for ensuring all departments are compliant with legislation, standards and procedures
* Develop and deliver periodic quality awareness training and development, leading to continuous improvement of standards, practices and procedures through engagement with site based staff including sub-contractors
* Assessment and evaluation of quality and environmental nonconformities, including coordination of any corrective and preventative actions
* Conduct final quality inspections of projects before they are handed over to the client, and put into place any remedial action required prior to handover
Person Specification
Essential
* Hold degree level construction related qualification
* Demonstrate previous experience in a similar Quality role
* Possess clear and considerable understanding of quality management best practice for deployment by a large, complex and contract-led organisation
* Good working knowledge of ISO9001 and systems of work contained within
* Robust enough to challenge construction teams and subcontractors if high standards aren’t adhered to
* Sharp communication skills with the ability to deal with a range of internal and external stakeholders
* Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail
Desirable
* Quality management/auditor qualification or accreditation
