Long‑term freelance position starting January 2026.
Overview
The building contractor manages projects of varied nature, including Healthcare, education, local authority, commercial, private residential, sports and leisure, embassy and religious buildings. Projects range from £200k to £5m and cover refurbishment, new build and cut‑and‑carve.
Candidate
The ideal candidate has proven experience as a Site Manager across varied sectors on projects up to £2m value. Responsibilities include full site operations, client and Principal Contractor management, and delivery of construction projects without excessive red‑tape.
Project
The primary focus is Healthcare projects – standard NHS fit‑outs of wards – requiring high detail orientation, design interface, and management of M&E packages in a live operational environment.
Responsibilities
* Full site operations and management of client & Principal Contractor relationships.
* Ensure compliance with safety legislation and corporate safety procedures, including CDM.
* Effective communication, management, operational planning and time management.
Qualifications
* CSCS card (relevant to position).
* Construction related degree, HNC/HND or NVQ Level 4 (highly desirable).
* SMSTS or equivalent (highly desirable).
