Job Summary
Location: Plymouth
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £92–£96 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-Time
Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs and trauma-related behaviours.
* Build trusting, consistent relationships that promote engagement and positive outcomes.
* Deliver outreach support within the community, helping students access education and wider opportunities.
* Support students in developing emotional regulation, resilience, confidence, and social skills.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies to meet students' individual needs.
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to student progress reviews.
Essential Requirements
* Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults.
* Maths & English GCSE C or above.
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
* Business insurance for vehicle use, as the role involves frequent community outreach.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Desirable Experience
* Previous experience supporting children and young people with SEMH needs.
* Understanding of trauma-informed practice.
* Experience within alternative provision, special educational needs, youth work, social care, or similar settings.
* Knowledge of behaviour support strategies and restorative approaches.
