Job description At St. Mellion Estate we are looking for a driven sales person to join our team. About us… St Mellion Estate is a luxury resort that has two world renowned golf courses, a spa with full leisure and fitness facilities and an 80 plus bedroom hotel with conferencing, wedding and banqueting facilities for up to 500 guests. It’s a place where you can relax, whether at work or play, and enjoy the very best Cornish hospitality. There is much change on the horizon at St Mellion as we progress with our mission to transform into the UK’s leading multi-generational destination. There are ambitious development plans being created that may see the addition of a stand-alone spa, alongside ongoing refurbishment plans. We seek to do this in a sustainable and ethical way. We live within the grain of nature and aim to leave the natural world in better condition, with added resilience as a result of our actions. About the role… You will be a key player in our member’s journey, whether they are just starting out or a long-standing member. You’ll be there to: Generate new prospects and achieve targets by building relationships within the business through member referrals, leisure and hotel events and a range of outreach activities. Book tours and appointments to showcase our club, golf shop and hotel facilities, matching the facilities and selling the benefits of joining St. Mellion to the prospective members’ needs and goals. Be commercial ‘savvy’ and promote all marketing activities to sell golf and health club memberships. Present the membership options and promotions with prospective members on the telephone, via face-face appointments and email. Selling with integrity and offering advice through a professional discussion to match the right package for them. Work towards your monthly sales targets and sales KPI’s set by the Membership Sales Manager to achieve results and delivering great customer service throughout. Complete outbound and inbound calls to new prospects, previous and current members to renew and sell pre-paid and direct debit memberships. Handle and resolve member payment queries or complaints liaising with the Membership Sales Manager. Ensure you have in depth product knowledge, attending training and coaching sessions and working with all departments within your club. Supporting the Marketing Manager in completing agreed membership campaigns. About you… Be enthusiastic, self-motivated, proactive, target driven, organised. Possess fantastic sales traits, including an approachable personality, an ability to communicate effectively and a desire to achieve and exceed individual and team goals. Be passionate about sales in the leisure industry. Previous sales experience in leisure and/or golf is advantageous and full training is provided for an experienced non-leisure sales person. Digital marketing experience - social media / newsletter creation advantageous. Previous use of CRM system desirable. Personable, confident and able to build relationships with everyone. Great communication & organisational skills and experience in a customer-facing environment. Good computer and administration skills, with the confidence to learn new systems & databases quickly (we’ll give you all the training you need). Acquired tele sales and face to face selling techniques and skills. This is a target driven role so you will need to be self-motivated and persistent to achieve and exceed them. A people person who likes a challenge is key.
