MEICA Site Manager – BCS Group
MEICA Site Manager, you will be responsible for the management of the construction site to achieve the required project delivery to customers’ objectives while maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact, and cost control, with a particular focus on the execution of MEICA elements of work. You will support Electrical and Mechanical Installation engineers in the preparation of technical project documentation, including commissioning plans, ITPs and quality assurance records. You will deliver various projects to the specified quality, programme and financial targets, working with the Contracts Manager/Project Manager, mechanical and electrical engineers, and quantity surveyors to ensure safe delivery and that client requirements are met or exceeded.
Barhale’s projects vary in value, complexity and duration, from established frameworks to bespoke schemes. Projects range from £200k to £10m+. You will drive MEICA elements of work and deliver a high standard of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Site Management: overall responsibility for the delivery of projects in the Civils and Water sectors, leading MEICA elements of work
* Manage and supervise MEICA installation works, providing direction to the team
* Lead a team of Sub Agents, Engineers and Forepersons as required to deliver work safely, to the specified quality
* Produce and implement Project Plans, RAMS, ITPs and Waste Management Plans in line with company procedures
* Prepare MEICA project documentation, including Method Statements and Risk Assessments
* Assist the production of MEICA installation plans, inspection plans and training manuals
* Ensure MEICA delivery meets quality standards and manufacturer best practices
* Coordinate with MEICA Installation Engineers for Site Acceptance Testing and Telemetry commissioning
* Review P&ID diagrams and provide strategies to commission plant and equipment with reduced risk
* Support completion of MEICA installation and commissioning records for O&M manuals
* Maximise contract commercial performance and manage the construction programme including a 2-week look ahead
* Produce procurement schedules and liaise with procurement to ensure adequate resources
* Support design teams in MEICA designs ensuring compliance with current regulations and specifications
Client Interface
* Represent the business to customers, the public and official bodies
* Deliver products to customer requirements and satisfaction
* Liaise with customers to ensure successful commissioning
Cost Control
* Populate and manage the project cost plan
* Maximise project value and maintain detailed site diaries/records
* Maintain commercial tension to drive out cost and identify value engineering opportunities
Reporting
* Produce accurate monthly reports for internal use and for the client
* Chair weekly site meetings in line with company procedures

Essential
* Experience in MEICA and Civil Engineering environments, with site agent delivery experience in a regulated environment
* Working knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, programming, risk management and cost control including forecasting and reporting
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to work with Barhale MEICA team, 3rd parties and clients
* City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical installation BS7671 18th edition (2382-18)
* CCG 2365 Electrical qualifications
* Knowledge of specifications and testing regimes for civil engineering
* Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent
* Mechanical Engineering qualification (C&G/NVQ or equivalent)
* Industrial MEICA installation background with commissioning experience
* CSCS Card
* IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS
* Temporary Works Coordinator
* Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems; strong leadership
* Good time management and ability to prioritise a varied workload
Desirable
* CEng MICE or equivalent
* Primavera P6 knowledge
* Knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract
* WIMES Standards familiarity
* Experience in utilities, especially Water & Wastewater
* 2394 & 2395 Inspection & Testing
* 2391/2392 testing qualifications or equivalent
* LV or HV training or experience
* Thames Water Safety Passport
* EUSR Water Hygiene card
* Confined space training (CP1/CP2)
