Data Architect – London, Hybrid Data Architect
We’re seeking a Data Architect to lead enterprise‑wide data governance and architecture for a leading financial services organisation. This role is central to shaping scalable, compliant, and cloud‑ready data ecosystems that enable smarter decision‑making and digital transformation.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for building and embedding governance frameworks across the organisation, from ownership models and metadata strategy to lifecycle policies and retention standards. Working with stakeholders across departments, you’ll chair a Data Governance Council, enforce data quality metrics, and ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other regulatory requirements.
On the technical side, you’ll design and implement modern data platforms, support cloud adoption, and translate business needs into scalable architecture across data lakes, warehouses, and content systems. You’ll also champion a data‑first culture, driving awareness, training, and best practice sharing.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
* Strong background in data architecture and modelling (conceptual, logical, physical)
* Experience with data lakes, warehouses, and master data management
* Hands‑on expertise in ETL/ELT pipelines, integration, and orchestration
* Familiarity with Azure, Fabric, PowerBI, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL
* Proven recent experience in financial services or fintech (5+ years)
Desirable:
* Certifications such as Azure/Fabric Data Engineer Associate or SnowPro Advanced Architect
* Experience designing analytics platforms in regulated environments
