Overview
Barclays – Technology Developer Apprenticeship – Northampton. This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to earn while working toward a Software Developer apprenticeship, combining theory with practical, full-time work in a permanent role.
Technology at Barclays is at the heart of the business. You’ll contribute to building and maintaining digital infrastructure, enabling transactions, safeguarding data, and serving millions of customers worldwide. You’ll work in a global technology environment with peers and mentors who specialise in areas like machine learning, blockchains, and fintech.
Purpose of the role
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Responsibilities
* Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
* Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and align with business objectives.
* Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
* Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.
* Implement effective unit testing to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
Qualifications and eligibility
* 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C (9-5) including Maths and English (or equivalent).
* Commitment and enthusiasm; readiness to work hard, push yourself, and learn in a global bank environment.
