The Role

Assisting the Management Board (MB) with the firms HR strategy and road maps for delivery and implementation

Assisting with identifying Learning and Development needs across the business, including organising, implementation and monitoring feedback, sourcing and liaising with external training providers and booking training courses, organising internal training sessions and managing the in-house electronic training process.

Recruitment and selection process and developing the candidate pool for all positions including succession planning to ensure business needs are met. Working with internal departments to resource key staff through different means of advertising, develop social media recruitment and improve links with key Universities and Colleges, including attending recruitment fairs

Responsible for the implementation of our staff on boarding process

Implementing training contracts & SQE processes from start to end including; managing selection process, issuing training contract documentation, registration with the SRA, managing seat rotations, delivering trainee inductions and liaising with the PSC training provider and booking relevant PSC courses and SQE equivalent training providers

Enhance and embed our approach to HR identifying opportunities for effective use of analytics that will support strategic decision making.

Responsible for the management of the HR system and advise MB on improvements. Manage the release of new benefit packages to staff.

Manage the relationship between HR, all other internal departments together with third party HR suppliers

Develop connections with other HR Managers in the Legal sector.

Support MB to identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to create efficiencies and add value to the business.

Ensure all HR systems, data, processes and functions are compliant with relevant policies and legislation and manage the HR across the business by way of collaborating with internal and external parties to ensure compliance with the SRA’s, LEXCEL, or any other accreditation held at the time.

Lead, coach and mentor staff

Support Heads of Department to facilitate compliance with HR processes and procedures.

Manage all internal HR processes including probation, appraisal process, staff absences etc

Collaborating with the Partners and MB to ensure the smooth running of the business from a people perspective.

Manage employment relations issues such as grievances & disciplinary. Coaching and supporting Supervisors and Directors through any staffing issues with the view to find a resolution at an informal stage. Take notes, produce documentation and advise on fairness/process on disciplinary/grievance/investigatory panels.

Support MB and Partners at management meetings including providing HR reports and updates to MB and Partners

Work alongside our third party suppliers to manage payroll, compensation and benefits, EAP, maternity and pension schemes.

Key Skills Required

Demonstratable experience as a HR administrator Excellent organisational skills Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work comfortable at all levels within the business Diplomacy and tact Pro-active approach Positive experience of delegation and management Team player Good working knowledge of IT (including Teams, email, word, HR packages and excel) Experience in a law firm preferrable (or willingness to undertake training specific to Law Firm HR)
