Description ABOUT THE ROLE As a Fitness Instructor, you’ll play a key role in the daily operation of Sport Central's gym by providing a welcoming and safe experience for our customers. You’ll deliver a range of fitness appointments, including gym inductions, health assessments, as well as leading high-quality fitness classes to our members. This is a customer-facing role, so you’ll be actively engaging with members as well as supporting operational tasks as needed. Good knowledge of all Northumbria Sport products and services is essential. Further information is available in the job description. This is a part-time position, working 7.4 hours per week. ABOUT THE TEAM Reporting directly to the Duty Manager, the role will join Northumbria Sport, a core department within Campus Services. Northumbria Sport is responsible for delivering an excellent student experience through our range of sport, fitness and wellbeing programmes. The role will be based at Sport Central at Northumbria University's City Campus. ABOUT YOU To be successful in the role you will have: Excellent verbal communication skills Experience of delivering customer service excellence in a busy gym environment Qualified to instruct at least 3 different Group Exercise Classes Knowledge of how to set, monitor and evaluate Health & Fitness goals A good understanding of how to behave appropriately with members and colleagues Further information is available in the person specification.
