Our client, a well-established Yorkshire-based law firm with a rich heritage and diverse client portfolio spanning Industry, Manufacturing and Commercial sectors, is seeking an ambitious Senior Employment Lawyer to develop and lead their employment law offering. The Role
What you’ll be doing:
* Lead on all employment law matters while developing the practice area into a significant revenue generator for the firm.
* Build and grow the employment law offering with support from firm leadership and existing infrastructure.
* Mentor and supervise junior lawyers (NQ solicitor and apprentice) who handle employment work alongside corporate matters.
* Develop strong client relationships across Industry, Manufacturing and Commercial sectors.
* Contribute to practice growth through networking, client development and thought leadership.
* Bring and develop your own portable caseload or client following (highly desirable).
* Work from the Bradford office with the option to establish a satellite office in your preferred location.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
* Manage your own caseload of non-contentious employment matters independently, including contracts, policies, TUPE, restructures, settlement agreements and tribunal representation.
* Develop and expand the firm’s employment law offering through strategic business development.
* Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and trainees who handle employment work.
* Build strong client relationships across Industry, Manufacturing and Commercial sectors.
* Support practice growth through networking, client development and thought leadership.
* Demonstrate a portable caseload or client following where applicable.
* Be office-based 3 days per week to provide hands-on mentorship and team development.
What Were Looking For
* Essential Requirements
* Qualified solicitor with 5 years PQE in Employment Law.
* Strong technical expertise in non-contentious employment matters (contracts, policies, TUPE, restructures, settlement agreements, disciplinary and grievance procedures).
* Proven track record of managing an employment law caseload independently with minimal supervision.
* Experience mentoring and developing junior lawyers or trainees.
* Excellent client relationship management and communication skills.
* Commercial awareness and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to client advice.
* Commitment to hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 days flexible).
* Based in or willing to relocate to Bradford or surrounding West Yorkshire areas.
* Desirable
* Portable caseload or client following ready to transfer.
* Demonstrated business development success in employment law.
* Experience growing or developing an employment law practice or department.
* Sector experience working with Industry, Manufacturing or Commercial clients.
* Tribunal representation experience (Employment Tribunal).
* CIPD qualification or employment law specialization.

Parking : Available at office location.
Commutable From : Leeds, Halifax, Keighley, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Shipley and surrounding West Yorkshire areas.
