You will be required to work 23.75 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.
Monday to Friday (working times to be discussed at interview)
Dumfries and Galloway Council are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual to manage and cook meals within a busy school kitchen at Kirkinner Primary School. You will receive support and guidance from your line manager.
Applicants must have managerial or supervisory experience in catering, along with cooking skills and experience.
Responsibilities include:
1. Providing early years and school meals to children and young people
2. Managing the kitchen budget
3. Ensuring compliance with H.A.S.A.W. and Cooksafe standards
4. Organising daily kitchen operations
5. Working under pressure and meeting deadlines
6. Handling complaints effectively
7. Following council processes and procedures
8. Using digital appliances and software
9. Staying informed on current food trends and customer preferences
This role is considered regulated work with vulnerable children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will need to join or update their PVG Scheme membership prior to employment.
Applicants with residence outside the UK within the last 5 years will need to provide a police record check from the relevant authorities in their country of residence.
