Data Architect
Salary: circa £70,000, negotiable based on skills and experience.
Contract: Permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week).
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne – hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days in office per week or home based.

Overview
Are you ready to shape the future of data at Home Group? As our Data Architect you’ll craft a visionary roadmap for all things data, guiding the organisation towards a new era of innovation and excellence. You’ll work closely with the Head of Data and other senior stakeholders, enabling the team to derive insight and wisdom from data and to become a truly data‑driven organisation that directly improves the lives of our customers. Your role will also ensure our data foundations are ready for the future, including the integration of AI to help colleagues work smarter and deliver better outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with stakeholders to develop a long‑term, strategic roadmap that implements our data strategy and aligns with our vision.
* Design and evolve data architectures that support advanced analytics, automation, and AI‑enabled capabilities, ensuring governance, high quality, and fit for purpose.
* Lead challenging data projects focused on extracting value from data for our customers.
* Support the team and wider department with specialist knowledge in data modelling, integration, or data quality, providing invaluable insights.
* Present and adapt roadmaps to peers, senior leaders, and at events to share knowledge, seek feedback, and foster collaboration.
Qualifications
* Proven experience implementing a data strategy incorporating people, process, and technology.
* In‑depth knowledge of data modelling principles, techniques, and tools, with the ability to rapidly upskill in new areas or technologies.
* Experience designing data architectures that support advanced analytics, machine learning, or AI use cases, underpinned by strong governance and quality.
* Strong expertise in database and data warehousing technologies such as SQL, Oracle, and Databricks.
* Experience working with internal or external customers to design robust, commercially sound technical solutions.
* Outstanding communication skills, able to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

* Newcastle upon Tyne based with hybrid working 2 days per week (in office or home based).
