Job Description
Ready to step into a bigger HR leadership role?
Pay: Up to £80,000.00 per year
We’re looking for an ambitious People professional (c.6–10 years’ experience) who’s ready to take the next step — someone who wants to own, shape and build - not just maintain.
This is a newly created role in a fast-growing, tech-enabled property & legal services business operating in a fast paced, regulated environment. You’ll work directly with an experienced (fractional) CPO. You’ll have real exposure, responsibility, and the opportunity to accelerate your career quickly.
What you’ll be doing
* Delivering and embedding the People Strategy across a scaling business
* Leading talent attraction, development, succession planning and performance frameworks
* Acting as a trusted business partner to leaders, coaching on performance, engagement and change
* Leading on employee relations (performance, conduct, organisational change)
* Driving a high-quality, engaging end-to-end employee experience
* Using people data and insights to inform business decisions
* Overseeing core HR operations, compliance and processes (with strong attention to detail)
* Partnering with hiring teams to ensure scalable, high-quality recruitment
* Leading and developing a small People & Talent team
What we’re looking for
* 6–10 years’ HR experience in a fast-paced, operational environment
* Strong generalist HR background (including hands-on employee relations)
* CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience)
* Previous experience leading a small HR team or direct reports
* Experience supporting organisational growth and change
* Exposure to environments with high volume, fast-moving people operations
* Experience leading talent attraction, development and retention, alongside performance and career progression frameworks
* Strong attention to detail, with the ability to operate effectively in a regulated environment
* Interest in and understanding of how to engage, motivate and retain a younger workforce (including Gen Z)
* Comfortable using data and metrics to drive insight and decisions
* Confident influencing and working with senior stakeholders
* Commercial, pragmatic and solutions-focused mindset
* Someone who is proactive, hands-on and keen to grow into a broader leadership role
Why this role?
* Career acceleration – step into a Head of role earlier in your career
* Direct exposure to CPO and leadership team
* Opportunity to build, shape and improve the People function
* Join a growing, ambitious business where you can make a real impact
* Clear progression opportunity – for the right person, there is a realistic pathway to step into a more senior leadership role within 12–18 months
* Make a visible difference – real scope to enhance engagement, retention and create a standout employee experience
If you’re ready for more ownership, more influence, and the chance to genuinely shape a people function, we’d love to hear from you.
* Wokingham (Hybrid – 4 days in office)
