Leader Education are recruiting for an experienced Senior Learning Mentor to support students in a specialist school in Manchester. This role focuses on mentoring pupils who require additional pastoral support to remain engaged in education.
Senior Learning Mentors play a key role in helping students build confidence, resilience and positive attitudes towards learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide mentoring and pastoral support to students experiencing barriers to learning.
* Support pupils with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges or low engagement.
* Develop positive relationships to help students improve confidence and motivation.
* Work with school staff to implement pastoral support plans.
* Encourage attendance, engagement and positive behaviour.
* Track student progress and contribute to support planning.
Requirements
* Previous experience in mentoring, pastoral support, youth work or education.
* Understanding of SEMH and barriers to learning.
* Excellent communication and motivational skills.
* Ability to build strong relationships with young people.
* Patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
