We are now seeking a reliable and skilled Gardener / Handyman to help maintain our grounds and properties to the highest standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Gardening & Grounds Maintenance
* Grass cutting, leaf collection, hedge and shrub maintenance
* Planting and weeding of flower beds
* Care of trees, hedges, and landscaped areas
* Ensuring all paths, footways, and fire escapes are kept clear and safe throughout the year (including ice and snow clearance in winter)
* Safe use of pesticides and treatments in line with COSHH regulations
* Routine inspection and maintenance of play equipment
* Safe operation, care, and maintenance of gardening machinery and equipment
Handyman & General Maintenance
* Low-level guttering and rainwater drain clearance
* Keeping waste store areas tidy and secure
* Assisting maintenance staff with bulky waste removal
* Carrying out basic maintenance tasks including: -
o Plumbing (non-gas)
o Joinery
o Decorating
o Glazing
o Drainage
Additional Duties
* Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) across all properties during winter months (training provided)
* Participation in an on-call rota
* Undertaking any reasonable duties that enhance the appearance, safety, and upkeep of the grounds
What We're Looking For
* Experience in gardening and general handyman work
* Good all-round practical and trade knowledge
* A proactive, can-do attitude with strong attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills
* Knowledge of health and safety practices
* Physically fit and able to carry out manual work daily
* Full UK driving licence is essential
* Willingness to learn and develop new skills
