Salary: £24, - £24, (pro-rata for part-time and sessional)
Hours: 25 per week, 38 weeks sessional
To undertake individually or as part of a team, activities in a kitchen or dining centre connected with the provision and transportation of the catering service. Providing a fully compliant, high quality catering provision which meets the councils aims and objectives.
1. Skilled cooking activities connected with the full range of meals and recipes.
2. Paperwork - Completion of Cook Safe, allergen paperwork and other food related paperwork (e.g. recording temperatures, service specification etc).
3. Complete daily/weekly audits of the service - e.g. cleaning schedules, Covid compliance checks etc
4. Stock - Receiving food deliveries, checking temperature, quality of food and storing and labelling food appropriately. Stock rotation, checking dates to ensure old stock is used first and occasional ordering of stock.
5. Control of hygiene within the kitchen - Ensuring Cook 1's maintain a high level of hygiene, health and safety is maintained throughout. Ensuring Supervisors are made aware of any staff hygiene issues within the kitchen.
6. To support counter set-up and presentation of the food offer and assist in the service of that food as required.
7. Cash handling (as and when required).
8. Place orders for food and non-foods as and when required.
9. Support the preparation and delivery of function activity as required.
10. Work with the unit manager to cater for theme days in accordance with service specifications.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
