The Civil Site Manager will be part of our client's engineering department within their Heat Projects organisation, which consists of an international team of highly qualified engineers from various disciplines. The team is responsible for the technical integrity of the newly built heating plants.

For each project, a dedicated project team manages development and execution processes, coordinating the realization, commissioning, and hand-over of new plants to the future operator in consultation with stakeholders.

The engineering department supports projects with resources and expertise in engineering, construction, site management, commissioning, quality management, scheduling, and cost estimation.

To support the development and implementation of our technical activities across a broad project portfolio, we are seeking a Civil Site Manager for our projects in Edinburgh.


Scope

The projects include the realization of several district heating main spine extensions, on-plot distribution grids, and a new Energy Centre, potentially including heat pumps (sewage water heat), E-boilers, and heat accumulators.


Your Tasks as a Site Manager

* Coordinate, inspect, and ensure the safe execution of all site works by contractors in accordance with applicable contracts and our client's guidelines. Develop and execute a site management plan.
* Manage interfaces between construction works and coordinate between contractors in multi-lot projects.
* Promote and maintain world-class HSE performance in collaboration with the HSE manager and supervisors.
* Participate in the project management team and support other team members, including project and contract managers.
* Lead and motivate the site supervision construction team.
* Review and provide recommendations on the construction schedule.
* Ensure environmental and safety guidelines are implemented and followed.
* Implement quality assurance and control on-site, including documentation delivery.
* Contribute to claims and variation order discussions with the Project and Contract Managers.

Reporting lines include the Project Manager within the project and the Line Manager for Site Execution within the broader engineering organization.


Your Profile

Preferred candidates have a strong practical background in leading construction projects, especially in industrial sectors such as heat & power, oil & gas, or chemical industries.

Characteristics and skills include:

* At least 5 years of professional experience as a construction and/or site manager.
* Broad experience with civil site supervision.
* Strong focus on health and safety, leading by example.
* Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
* Solid knowledge of construction processes and quality management.
* Leadership qualities and analytical skills.
* Ability to work in a structured manner and make decisions within your mandate.
