School Cook – Secondary SEN School (Woolton, Liverpool)

A well-established Secondary SEN School in Woolton is seeking a dedicated and experienced School Cook to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about providing nutritious, high-quality meals to students in a supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook balanced, healthy meals in line with school dietary requirements.
* Plan menus that cater to a variety of dietary needs, including allergies and special diets.
* Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety in accordance with current regulations.
* Manage stock levels and ensure cost-effective ordering of ingredients.
* Work collaboratively with school staff to ensure meal times run smoothly.
Essential Qualities & Experience
* Previous experience as a cook or chef, ideally within a school or similar setting.
* Strong knowledge of food hygiene standards and health & safety regulations.
* Ability to plan menus and manage kitchen operations independently.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* A positive, adaptable attitude and the ability to work under pressure.
* Good communication skills and a commitment to supporting the school’s ethos.
Desirable
* Experience working in an SEN environment.
* Relevant catering qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Food Hygiene Certificate).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
