Job Title: Office Manager (part-time)
Location: East Belfast/Holywood, Northern Ireland
Job Type: Part-Time (3 days per week), Permanent
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (pro rata) per annum (depending on experience)
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Office Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy legal practice. In this role, you will ensure the smooth running of the office, providing vital administrative support to solicitors and staff, managing operational procedures, and maintaining regulatory compliance in line with professional standards. The successful candidate will be proactive, approachable, and capable of juggling multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage the overall administration of the office, ensuring efficiency and smooth daily operations.
2. Provide support to solicitors and staff, including scheduling, correspondence, and document preparation.
3. Implement and maintain office procedures and policies.
4. Oversee HR functions, including recruitment, staff records, and performance management.
5. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements relevant to a legal practice.
6. Manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
7. Support the introduction and management of IT systems and legal case management software.
8. Coordinate with external providers, including accountants, IT support, and regulatory bodies.
Essential Skills & Experience
9. Proven experience in office or business management.
10. Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
11. Knowledge of legal office procedures and regulatory requirements.
12. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with legal case management systems.
13. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Desirable Skills & Experience
14. Previous experience in the legal sector within Northern Ireland.
15. Familiarity with local legal regulations and professional standards.
16. Knowledge of Lexcel, GDPR, and AML compliance procedures.
17. HR or legal administration qualifications.
