Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Site Manager on a 6 month rolling contract based in Norfolk. Role Summary We are seeking two experienced Site Managers to oversee small operational teams (approx. 6 personnel) delivering deep excavation and sheet piling works on a high-risk industrial project. The successful candidates will be responsible for planning, supervising, and delivering daily works safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project documentation and site procedures. Key Responsibilities · Lead and manage a crew of up to 6 operatives carrying out deep excavation and sheet piling works. · Plan daily activities, allocate resources, and coordinate with the project engineering and safety teams. · Monitor and maintain safe excavation practices, including shoring, sheet piling installation, and ground support systems. · Conduct toolbox talks, RAMS briefings, and daily safety checks. · Ensure compliance with CDM, permit-to-work systems, and site-specific safety rules. · Liaise with subcontractors, plant suppliers, and client representatives. · Maintain daily site diaries, progress reports, and quality assurance records. · Identify and resolve on-site issues promptly to avoid delays. · Oversee plant, equipment, and materials to ensure efficient workflow. · Ensure works are completed to design specifications, industry standards, and programme deadlines. Requirements: · Proven experience as a Site Manager or General Foreman in heavy civils. · Demonstrable experience in deep excavation and sheet piling operations. · Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing small, tight-knit teams (~6 men). · CSCS (Black/Gold), SMSTS or SSSTS. · Experience working in high-hazard or industrial environments (e.g., gas terminals, petrochemical, COMAH sites) – advantageous. · Strong understanding of temporary works, lifting ops, and groundworks safety. · Ability to read drawings, interpret RAMS, and communicate technical instructions clearly. · Excellent organisational, reporting, and communication skills. Desirable · First Aid at Work · CPCS/NPORS knowledge of plant operations · Confined Space or Temporary Works Supervisor Certifications · Experience with permit-to-work systems · Previous experience on LNG / gas terminal / petrochemical projects Personal Attributes · Proactive, safety-driven, and hands-on. · Capable of motivating small teams and maintaining high productivity. · Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving skills. · Professional, reliable, and able to work independently.
