Quality Manager

Own, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System to ensure compliance with ISO 9001.
Plan, execute, and oversee internal audits to ensure processes meet requirements and drive improvement.
Lead the application of structured problem‑solving methodologies to deliver quality improvements across both manufacturing and non‑manufacturing functions.
Define and track key quality metrics (e.g., Cost of Poor Quality) to demonstrate performance and improvement.
Communicate quality improvement activities to customers and ensure alignment with customer expectations.
Ensure Standard Operating Procedures remain accurate, effective, and aligned with compliance and quality‑cost reduction goals.
Health & Safety
Develop and implement health & safety policies in line with relevant regulations and industry standards (e.g., ISO 45001).
Conduct risk assessments and ensure appropriate controls are in place and maintained.
Lead investigations into safety incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Coordinate and deliver safety training and awareness programmes.
Maintain accurate records relating to safety incidents, training, and compliance.
Foster a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement in workplace health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the Quality team, supporting capability growth across the function.
Develop and implement quality strategy, resource planning, systems, and improvement timelines.
Maintain systems to measure performance against established quality standards.
Monitor, analyse, and report on performance and initiate appropriate actions to address gaps.
Drive communication strategies to improve quality awareness and engagement across the organisation.
Collaborate cross‑functionally and build strong working relationships with internal teams and suppliers.
Work closely with customers and suppliers on quality‑related matters where required.
Liaise with external quality management bodies and standards organisations.
Contribute to organisational policy development and operational strategy.
Manage departmental performance against targets while adhering to corporate policies and standards.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all quality and health & safety queries from customers, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
Prepare and deliver reports on quality and safety performance to senior leadership.
Ensure full compliance with all organisational policies and procedures, including health and safety.
Perform any other duties reasonably requested by the Managing Director.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience in Quality Engineering or Quality Management.
Experience within a manufacturing environment is essential.
Strong leadership and people‑management skills.
Competence in using precision measuring tools.
Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
Strong communication, presentation, and organisational abilities.
Desirable certifications include ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Six Sigma, NEBOSH, or equivalent.
Location & Travel
UK travel will be required.
