We are looking for an experienced and creative Part Time Cook to join our Primrose Croft Care Home in Cambridge.
Location: Cambridgeshire, England, United Kingdom
Job type: Part Time, 28 hours a week, 4 days per week. Must be able to work every other weekend. Shift: 7am to 2pm.
Pay: £14.90 per hour.
About the role
* Prepare and cook nutritious meals using fresh ingredients.
* Schedule weekly meal menus, paying attention to individual dietary requirements.
* Work with the Home Manager to ensure that ordering of stock aligns with budgetary requirements.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure meal plans and dietary requirements fit within individual support plans and risk assessments.
* Maintain quality assurance systems within the kitchen.
* Supervise other kitchen team members.
* Have a full understanding of Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, COSHH, and guidelines relating to contamination and cross infection.
* Involve yourself in meaningful activities with residents, promoting independence, choice, dignity, and respect.
Qualifications and experience
* Experience cooking for large numbers.
* NVQ Level 2 in catering and hospitality.
* 2 years' experience in a catering environment.
* 12 months experience managing a kitchen.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
