Our support staff play a vital role in the life of St. Peter’s.
In the classroom they act as the teachers’ eyes and ears, supporting groups and individuals, helping keep a positive working atmosphere and making sure every child is ready to learn. In the playground they lead games, keep things safe and calm and give first aid when things go wrong. Where ever they are, they comfort children, encourage children, settle conflicts, repair friendships and just bring out the best in all our children.
We are looking for the right Learning Mentor to join our team of skilled HLTAs and TAs who support our children and enable them to fulfil their potential. If you are passionate about working with children in order to help them succeed, then this role is for you.
Our HLTA team consists of an Emotional and Wellbeing Mentor, a Speech and Language Mentor and two Cognition and Learning Mentors – one of whom is leaving us at the end of this term.
Primarily this role will be supporting children, individually or more usually in small groups, with the learning of key maths and English skills. You will be working under the guidance of our two SENCos as well as class teachers, will be an important part of this support team and will be responsible for the planning and delivery of your specific interventions.

Experience working within a school is essential. GCSE level English and Maths is a requirement and a HLTA qualification is desirable.
