Responsibilities
1. Design and develop interactive Power BI reports and dashboards, determining optimal data loading methods ( memory, fabric, direct query), re-using existing data flows and datasets, and building robust data models using DAX and visualisation techniques.
2. Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency, and develop and maintain ETL processes to streamline data flow into Power BI.
3. Maintain an inventory of reusable Power BIponents including Fabric Shortcuts, Models, Datasets, and Dataflows.
4. Work closely with investment analysts, portfolio managers, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver tailored BI solutions, while ensuring alignment with the wider BI team's strategy and best practices.
5. Optimise Power BI reports and dashboards for performance and usability, implementing best practices for data visualisation and user experience.
6. Provide training and consultancy to business users on Power BI tools, and support self-service BI by assisting users in developing their own reports and dashboards.
7. Stay current with Power BI features and industry trends, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance BI solutions and processes.
About the Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
8. Proven experience as a Power BI Developer, ideally within the Investments sector.
9. Experience working with stakeholders to understand requirements.
10. Strong proficiency in Power BI, including data modelling, DAX, and Power Query.
11. Experience with SQL and data integration techniques.
12. Experience with Alteryx is desirable.
13. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
14. Strongmunication and collaboration abilities.
