Pigment is a change and transformation consultancy. We partner with other consultancies to deliver a \"one-team approach\" for solving complex change across Defence and National Security.
We are currently looking for several SC-Cleared Enterprise Data Architects to join our team, working alongside programme teams to shape, design and embed Defence-wide data capability. Our Data Architects will help turn fragmented data landscapes into connected, governed and operationally valuable ecosystems.
Please note that due to project sensitivities, our consultants must have active and valid SC-Level or DV-Level clearance.
Key responsibilities:
* Shape enterprise-level data thinking across complex Defence environments
* Build practical data architectures that translate strategy into delivery
* Develop end-to-end data models
* Design integration approaches that enable interoperability across systems
* Establish data governance
* Support adoption of emerging data capabilities including AI and automation
* Create reusable patterns and guidance to uplift capability across teams
* Work directly with stakeholders to bridge operational need and technical design
We are looking for consultants with experience in:
* Data modelling
* APIs, pipelines, event-driven patterns (Integration design)
* Relational, NoSQL, or cloud-native data platforms
* Experience establishing data governance frameworks such as quality, lineage, metadata, or MDM
* Understanding of Defence data and integration principles such as JSP 453
* Familiarity with TOGAF or other enterprise architecture approaches
* Awareness of data security and governance standards such as ISO 27001 or NIST
* Ability to produce clear, structured outputs for both technical and non-technical audiences
Required experience:
* Delivered as a Data Architect within Defence, Security or CNI environments
* Worked across both enterprise and solution-level architecture
* Comfortable operating across full programme lifecycles (such as CADMID)
