As part of the Delta Education Trust, Delta Bespoke manages and runs a series of Adventure Learning Outdoor Education Centres for young people who struggle in mainstream education settings. Our vision, Happiness in the Pursuit of Learning embodies our passion for creating learning and educational opportunities for students who find being in the classroom difficult.

Are you an enthusiastic individual with a passion for outdoor learning who can bring this vision to life and make a real difference to the lives and prospects of our young people, if so then this role is for you.

The role:

Our adventure learning leaders are always looking for great people to join them, and right now are looking for Outdoor Learning Mentors to work with our Instructor Teams to support an outdoor education focused curriculum. Your role will include supporting the students in a range of outdoor & adventurous activities such as: Mountain Biking, Kayaking, Stand-up Paddleboarding, Rock Climbing and Orienteering as directed by the instructor.

About you:

* You ideally have experience in a similar role
* A highly motivated and flexible individual who can form positive relationships with students with a wide range of special needs in order to make a positive difference.
* Someone with a particular interest in teaching students with special educational needs, including those with behavioural, emotional and social issues.
* Resilience, patience and a sense of humour is a must.

About us:

The Harbour School is an AP and SEMH school for students in Portsmouth and our students range from year 5 up to year 11. We are proud to be more than a school. We are a lifeline for young people navigating some of life’s most difficult challenges. Our students may be recovering from trauma, permanent exclusion, self-isolation, or coping with medical conditions that prevent them from attending mainstream schools. Every child has their story – and we are here to help them write a brighter chapter.

About Delta:

At Delta, we really care about our pupils and their attitude towards learning. We pride ourselves on creating exciting learning environments and innovative curriculums suitable for all ages and abilities. With Delta Bespoke, pupils learn together to become knowledgeable, self-aware, independent and emotionally regulated. Creating students who are happy with themselves, brave enough to cope and confident enough to make positive decisions, wherever life takes them.

You will be part of an inclusive and collaborative team that, no matter what the challenge may be, are ready to face it head on and are committed to seeing it through.

Delta Bespoke takes great care to recruit the very best people so that the services we provide are outstanding. We believe that the best work gets done in an environment that’s enjoyable and which values, supports and encourages the development of its employees.

With that in mind, we support our staff in achieving relevant outdoor qualifications needed for the role.

We also offer:

* A supportive leadership team that values your ideas and ambitions.
* Opportunities for professional growth and career progression.
* Generous sick pay and pension scheme
* The chance to make a genuine impact on children’s lives every single day.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, this role involves directly working with children and significant contact with children, and therefore we expect all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment. Please ensure a full work history is completed in your application form including any gaps of employment. Applicants will be required to complete satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check for this post prior to commencement. The Trust is an equal opportunities employer.

If successfully shortlisted the HR Department will also be conducting an individual online search including social media platforms of your ‘name, education and employment’, to demonstrate due diligence following ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ guidance. The search will not form part of the actual shortlisting process and any concerns arising from the search will be discussed directly with you.
