We have a great opportunity for an Assistant Cluster Human Resources Manager to join us in the North West and Northern Ireland area at Leonardo Hotels. Reporting to the Cluster HR Manager, and assisting in managing a small HR team, you would provide quality HR leadership, support, coaching, and guidance for your cluster, and support the Group HR team in all areas of delivering the HR strategy.
You’ll be primarily based in either Manchester, Liverpool, Chester, or Belfast and able to travel to other properties within your cluster where necessary. Due to the operational nature of our business, presence is important in our hotels and offices; however, we are open to discussing flexible working options including working from home one day a week where required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Recruitment and Selection: Coaching hiring managers on recruitment activities, developing succession plans, and managing the Labour Turnover Strategy for the cluster.
* Compliance: Ensuring implementation of people-related policies and procedures, best practices, current legislation, and managing compliance including right to work documentation and working time procedures.
* Learning and Development: Monitoring and communicating training, ensuring personal development plans are in place, identifying local training needs, and overseeing group induction processes.
* Payroll: Supporting payroll processing, handling payroll queries, and assisting in budget and bonus plan preparations.
* Employee Relations: Providing leadership on employment law, coaching managers on investigations, and advising on people management. Promoting employee wellbeing through quality conversations and appropriate signposting.
* Engagement: Supporting HR strategy development, driving engagement activities, and utilizing tools like “LEAPP” and “Leo Points”.
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience in a similar HR role within hotels or the service sector preferred.
* Knowledge of UK employment law and good HR practices.
* CIPD qualification or working towards it.
* Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to multitask and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency with computer systems, including payroll and employee apps.
* Coaching and development skills for management teams.
* Payroll knowledge is desirable.
