Position: Food Programme Cook (Fixed Term, 12 months)
Working hours: 4 hours per week (Every Tuesday)

The Salvation Army, Dereham Corps, operates a Warm Place feeding programme, a vital part of its weekly mission activities, providing fellowship, company, and good food. We seek a highly motivated individual to join and help expand this growing Food programme. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality food for the programme.
Key Responsibilities:
The post-holder will:
1. Plan healthy, nutritious, and cost-effective menus considering dietary requirements and customer feedback.
2. Maintain health, safety, environmental health, and hygiene standards within the catering facility, adhering to regulations such as BFH / COSHH, and ensure proper food storage according to British standards.
3. Ensure the catering area is left clean and tidy after each shift.
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience in preparing and serving food in a commercial kitchen environment.
* Ability to influence and build effective relationships with colleagues, programme participants, and external stakeholders.
* Understanding of community needs and proficiency in English.
* Ability to supervise and train Assistants and Volunteers, in collaboration with the Corps Officer.
* Commitment to the values, aims, and ethos of The Salvation Army.
