Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Mentors to support and guide children in their educational and personal development. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in early childhood education, special education, or related fields, and will be passionate about fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves working closely with children to enhance their academic skills, social behaviours, and overall well-being.
Duties
* Provide one-on-one or small group support to children in various subjects, including maths and literacy.
* Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive interactions and learning.
* Assist in the development of personalised learning plans tailored to each child's needs.
* Foster a nurturing environment that encourages children to express themselves and build confidence.
* Engage in tutoring sessions that may include speech therapy techniques and applied behaviour analysis.
* Collaborate with teachers and parents to track progress and address any concerns regarding the child's development.
* Conduct activities that promote physical education, creativity, and social skills.
* Maintain accurate records of each child's progress and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders.
Skills
* Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and educators.
* Experience with children in various settings, including childcare, preschool experience, or special education environments.
* Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
* Ability to manage behaviours effectively while promoting a supportive atmosphere.
* Proficiency in tutoring subjects such as maths and literacy.
* Familiarity with speech therapy techniques is advantageous but not essential.
* Competence in proofreading educational materials for clarity and accuracy.
* Experience in mentoring or teaching physical education is beneficial.
