We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Catering Manager to support the first-class food service at our care home. We seek a candidate passionate about cooking to join our award-winning team, where you will have the opportunity to expand your culinary skills.
The main purpose of the Catering Manager's role is to organise and control the efficient and economical production of quality food within budget, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with EHO regulations. Food preparation will include:
* Preparing, cooking, and serving hot and cold meals as required.
* Providing for special dietary requirements, including Kosher, Halal, vegan, and vegetarian cuisine.
* Preparing high-standard pure vegetarian Indian cuisine.
The Head Chef will also be expected to:
* Recruit kitchen team members.
* Audit and ensure compliance with EHO regulations.
* Follow the IDDSI framework and meet all dietary requirements.
* Demonstrate good leadership skills.
* Produce a timely 4-week kitchen rota.
* Assist with training the kitchen team.
* Develop menus using sustainable produce.
* Place orders and conduct monthly stock takes.
* Monitor and control food costs within budgeted guidelines.
* Oversee the food safety management system.
Qualifications include:
* City & Guilds Level 1 & 2, or equivalent (achieved or working towards).
* Basic Food / Hygiene Certificate.
* Previous supervisory experience.
Skills required include good communication, the ability to work on own initiative, and being a team player.
