Overview
Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council provides award‑winning school meals across the borough using locally sourced, high‑quality ingredients. We are currently seeking a Mobile Unit Catering Manager to work 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday during term time, at various sites across Solihull and Coventry.
Responsibilities
* Set and maintain a high standard of quality food presentation and service. Ensure all food is served at the right temperature, garnished and presented appropriately.
* Serve meals and assist customers in choosing dishes.
* Order, prepare and cook food following the centralised menu plan for breakfasts, lunches, buffets and promotions, ensuring government nutritional and food‑based standards are met.
* Compile and submit statistical documentation required by the central administration, e.g., trading sheets, payroll adjustment sheets and periodic stock control sheets.
* Prepare or delegate preparation of the dining area for all types of catering requirements, including function catering.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Enthusiastic, self‑motivated and able to undertake general kitchen duties.
* Approachable, adaptable and able to respond to meet customers' individual needs using appropriate communication methods.
* NVQ Level 2 Award in Hospitality and Catering Principles and Level 2 Food Safety.
* Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
* Will undergo DBS check.
