The Vacancy
Wates has an opportunity for a Site Manager to join our team within the Planned Works division. Based in Tamworth, you will work on social housing projects, ensuring that projects are built safely, economically, on time, and to quality standards.
Key Accountabilities
1. Input into and program the works, including short-term scheduling.
2. Manage operatives, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain quality control, health, and safety standards.
3. Attend pre- and post-inspections, advise on actions and requirements, and assist with design solutions to ensure successful delivery and handover.
4. Prepare weekly site progress reports for each scheme and submit them electronically to the Project Manager.
5. Ensure that completed jobs are documented with full job packs sent to the Project Manager, facilitating swift invoicing and cash flow management.
Minimum Requirements
* Full accreditation in asbestos awareness and scaffold inspections.
* SMSTS certification.
* Full UK driving license.
* Valid first aid certificate.
We seek an experienced Site Manager with a proven track record in internal and external planned maintenance works. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, positive, engaging, and capable of providing strong site leadership. IT skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are essential, along with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Due to the nature of the role, a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required at offer stage.
