We're working with a small, specialist secondary school in Twickenham that supports students with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), Autism and ADHD. Many of these pupils have been excluded from mainstream settings or struggled with trust and relationships. But when they feel safe and understood, everything starts to change. What does a Learning Mentor actually do? You'll be that steady, consistent presence for a young person who might never have had one. Someone they can rely on, not just to help with learning, but to help them regulate when things feel overwhelming. You'll be based in class and around school, supporting students who need extra help to focus, feel safe, and engage with learning. Some days will be smooth, others more challenging, but with the right mindset, it's one of the most meaningful roles out there. You'll work closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to understand each student's story and help shape the support they receive.
