THE ROLE
What you'll be doing...
Are you a seasoned HR professional with a passion for hospitality and a keen eye for talent? Reporting into the General Manager, this role is an integral part of our senior management team.
As our HR Manager, you will play an important role in creating a positive work culture and ensuring the smooth functioning of our human resources operations within the hotel. Your responsibilities will include:
* Talent Acquisition: Lead recruitment efforts to identify and attract top-tier talent that aligns with our hotel's values and standards.
* Employee Relations: Create and maintain a positive work environment by handling employee relations, conflict resolution, and fostering a culture of open communication.
* Training and Development: Implement training programs to enhance employee skills and ensure continuous professional development.
* Induction: Create engaging orientation sessions that encapsulate our values, operational standards, and the culture of DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh City.
* Performance Management: Oversee performance appraisal processes and work with department heads to address performance-related issues.
* Payroll: Working alongside our Financial Controller, you will support the payroll function to ensure accurate and timely compensation for all staff. Stay updated on legislation affecting payroll and implement best practices to maintain compliance and efficiency.
* Employee Engagement: Our team are the heart of everything we do, so this role will be hands on and proactive ensuring you engage with all stakeholders across the business.
* People Strategy: Evolve our current people strategy to ensure we are always a Great Place to Work!
REPORTING STRUCTURE AND SUPPORT
* You will report directly to the General Manager, providing regular updates and insights on HR operations and employee relations.
* As part of the RBH family, you'll have access to a supportive network, including the central management team and the Divisional HR Manager. This structure ensures guidance, best practices sharing, and assistance from experienced professionals across our wider HR team.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
* Proven experience as an HR Manager in the hospitality industry.
* Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labour laws, and regulations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse team.
* Solid understanding of talent acquisition, employee engagement, and retention strategies.
* CIPD Qualified would be desirable.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS
* Application closing date – Friday 19 th April.
* First stage interviews are scheduled to start week commencing 22 nd of April, to be held in person at the hotel with the General Manager.
* Feedback and next steps will be communicated to candidates moving forward in the process.
* Our aim is to extend job offers by the 1 st of May.
